Being a white presenting BIPOC is a complicated and nuanced experience in the United States, particularly during this era of “racial reckoning”. This research-based and experiential workshop is meant to be a thought provoking conversation for individuals who are interested in deepening their understanding of the complexity of racial identity of their students, fellow colleagues, and families who identify as white-presenting BIPOC within our schools.

This workshop is open to all educators, particularly those connected to the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding and mentoring of teachers, administrators, and staff. Through a series of small-group discussions and activities, participants will walk away with practical tips and strategies to reinvigorate ways new faculty and staff members enter a school’s community.
