ABOUT THIS VIRTUAL INTENSIVE
Providing students’ academic progress to parents and guardians can be complex, challenging, and rewarding. This program will share strategies for building healthy partnerships with parents, focusing on proactive communication, navigating academic feedback that is not aligned with parents’ expectations, and writing growth-oriented, specific, and personalized narrative reports. The workshop will also explore how historical student data can support educators' awareness of implicit biases. Please join facilitator Dr. Jawaan Wallace, Director of Enrollment Management and Collegiate Partnerships at Marlborough School, to build your toolkit of effective, responsive, and nimble communication strategies.
Participants will:
- Develop new skills, strategies, and techniques to foster healthy parent/guardian partnerships and dialogues
- Build a toolkit that provides specific tools and guidelines for supporting academic feedback communication and narrative report writing
- Learn how to use institutional data to become aware of implicit biases and how they show up in diverse feedback
AUDIENCE
