Coping Through Crisis: Support for Those Affected by the Southern California Fires
GROUP: Educators In Schools Impacted by the Southern California Fires: March 12, 2025 from 3:30pm - 4:30pm
ABOUT THIS ONLINE SESSION
The loss and destruction caused by the recent Southern California wildfires has been devastating. It’s important for educators to give themselves grace and seek community during this time. In partnership with Licensed Clinical Social Worker and school-based mental health professional, Jill Ma (she/her), CATDC is offering a support group for educators impacted by the fires.
Educators will have the opportunity to share their personal experiences of loss, challenges of meeting the present moment, and to come together with those who are also impacted.
This is an affinity space for faculty, staff, and administrators of schools that have been affected by the fires. Please only attend this group if you or your school community are directly impacted. CATDC may extend the sessions through the end of this school year, pending interest and participation.
Participants will:
- Be able to come as they are and join a supportive space
- Learn from and with each other
- Develop strategies to cope in the short and long-term
