ABOUT THIS ONLINE SUMMER INSTITUTE
Looking to develop your school’s professional learning plan for next year, but unsure what the next best step is when it comes to schools and AI?
While teacher adoption of AI tools is accelerating rapidly, the professional learning systems designed to support faculty growth, experimentation, and ethical implementation are lagging far behind. This two-day virtual summer workshop invites school leaders, instructional coaches, and professional learning designers into a collaborative design sprint focused on building mission-aligned, comprehensive professional development systems for the age of AI.
Participants will explore how school mission and values can serve as enduring anchors in a rapidly changing technological landscape, examine frameworks from organizational learning and change leadership, and develop practical strategies for fostering AI literacy, innovation, and responsible experimentation among faculty. Through structured planning activities and collaborative design work, participants will leave with concrete tools, next steps, and an action plan for creating adaptive, human-centered professional learning ecosystems that help educators and schools thrive in the age of AI.
Participants will:
- Explore how their school's mission, values, and identity can guide AI-related decision-making and help reframe common narratives about technological change.
- Understand research-based frameworks for organizational learning, systems thinking, change management, AI literacy, and professional learning design that can help schools move from fragmented AI adoption toward coherent, mission-aligned professional learning ecosystems.
- Create a customized, mission-aligned AI professional learning roadmap, complete with strategic goals, implementation structures, and next steps for the coming school year.
