Teaching Foundations

BATDC’s “Teaching Foundations” program is designed to support the growth and success of all teachers – particularly those in their early years at independent schools – by focusing on foundational areas of classroom teaching. Sessions are organized around designing curriculum, building successful professional relationships, creating effective classroom environments, and sustaining a career in teaching. Designed by a team of school leaders and experienced educators representing the K-12 continuum, the program will take place over the course of 4 days.

In an atmosphere of mindful inquiry, enthusiastic immersion, and friendly support, participants will benefit from the perspectives of experienced teachers and professional coaches as they work with frameworks that support clear thinking and independent development, engage in facilitated work time, and collaborate with colleagues from peer schools.
