This ongoing program will provide new leaders and educators growing into leadership roles with the tools and strategies to lead more successfully. With a focus on fostering our own personal growth as well as furthering our responsibility for the growth and development of others, participants will identify and hone the skills and habits of effective leaders, including locating one’s authentic leadership style, leveraging position within an institution, fostering high functioning teams, making informed decisions, navigating change and conflict, and creating and maintaining inclusive school environments in predominantly white institutions.

Drawing upon research-informed practices, transformational adult learning theory, Universal Design for Learning, and liberatory design, The Design Lab provides a unique opportunity to revitalize your meeting ideas, opening week workshops, professional learning days, or any other gathering.

This two-day, in-person program will center collective dialogue, offering White educators the opportunity to reflect on and process how they are experiencing—emotionally and somatically—this rise in global, national, and local conflict. Participants will also consider the ways that white supremacy culture prevents us from breaking our silence and stepping into conflict with curiosity and humility. Participants will learn from one another through collective wisdom and will gain concrete strategies and frameworks to support their work moving forward.

Kick off your summer with this interactive workshop on value, time, and project management. Over the course of two 150-minute sessions, you will learn and, importantly, put into practice, strategies for work efficiency. In addition, Andrew will be available for a follow-up 30-minute Q&A at the end of each session. Andrew Davis, a practitioner and evangelist of multiple productivity and time management tools, as well as a Head of School, will help you find the blend of strategies that will make your summer and 2024-25 school year more productive and rewarding.

Over the course of the two days, we will explore practical applications of UDL to lesson design and how to leverage the UDL guidelines to design for access and learner agency. Participants will also have the choice to work independently or in small teams to apply their understanding of UDL and the UDL design process in order to identify and reduce barriers that limit learning.
