In this two-day Summer Institute—led by Liza Gleason and Rob Wasielewski, who co-facilitate a group for white educators at Live Oak School in San Francisco—we will explore how to create and sustain the critical, reflective, and connected conversations about whiteness that our schools, students, families, and we, too, so desperately need. This workshop will help you grow your ability to engage other white educators at your school formally and informally.

Kick off your summer with this interactive workshop on value, time, and project management. Over the course of four 60-minute sessions, you will learn and, importantly, put into practice, strategies for work efficiency. In addition, Andrew will be available for a follow-up 30-minute Q&A at the end of each session. Andrew Davis, a practitioner and evangelist of multiple productivity and time management tools, as well as a Head of School, will help you find the blend of strategies that will make your summer and 2023-24 school year more productive and rewarding.

This two-day study group is a continuation of the APISA (Asian, Pacific Islander, South Asian) Study Group that began in June 2021 and continued through June 2022. This program is an opportunity to connect with other APISA educators in an affinity setting that will provide a safe and generative space to self-reflect, share stories, and learn from each other’s experiences.

This virtual workshop will support educators and school leaders in cultivating a positive culture of mentorship and digital wellness based on understanding the latest research on kids growing up in public. Rather than encourage students to be anxious that a misstep could cause them to be “canceled” or even jeopardize their admission to college, we can reframe the conversation about “digital footprint” to be a character-based conversation.

This workshop is a two-day opportunity to deeply (re)engage in learning and dialogue about the worldly nature of whiteness and how we can better recognize it, examine it, and disrupt it. We owe this (re)engagement to our students, colleagues, families, and ourselves.

Equity as Excellence is a unique opportunity for educators to learn research-based strategies, develop concrete tools, build community, and engage in guided practice to support diversity and equity work in their schools. Returning to an in-person setting, this five-day immersive Summer Institute is also designed to provide participants with the opportunity to be more strategic in the face of ongoing resistance, find renewal, and engage their radical imagination.
