PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Designed for coaches at all levels within their school sites, from classroom instructors to school leaders, this ongoing workshop will explore the habits and practices of transformational coaching. An essential goal of this series is to build a community of coaching practitioners in support of one another. Participants will review essential tools for transformational coaching, read professional literature on the subject of coaching—and engage in experiential activities to build greater capacity in their roles.

 

After applying new skills to their unique school settings, participants will have the opportunity to reflect on/discuss the challenges and successes of their work.

Lori Cohen

Lori Cohen has worked in education (both public and independent) for two decades as a teacher, instructional coach, and school leader. She currently works as an independent school consultant for Bright Morning Consulting, supporting schools in a range of capacities. With the CATDC, Lori serves as coordinator for Teaching Foundations, a program that brings her joy and professional rejuvenation. In all her work, Lori actively engages in equity and social justice, striving to offer access and pathways for all school stakeholders to thrive.

Lisa Haney

Lisa Haney

Lisa Haney has served as the Executive Director of the California Teacher Development Collaborative since 2017. Prior to her current position, she worked for 25-years at the Athenian School in many roles, including English teacher, international program director, and humanities department chair. In her most recent capacity as dean of faculty development, Lisa spearheaded a process to develop Athenian’s Standards of Excellent Teaching and design a comprehensive new professional development and evaluation program.
