Whittney Rooks, CATDC Facilitator

Whittney Rooks

Whittney Rooks is proud to be from the small town of Centre, Alabama, where she was raised to understand the responsibility she has to her community and to have reverence for the many ways we take care of each others’ well-being. Currently, she is a Human Development teacher at Brentwood School, where she co-designs and teaches our culturally responsive curriculum that supports adolescents in their transition to highschool. Before this, she was the front office manager and administrative assistant at Walden School and Chandler School, where she assisted the onboarding of newly-appointed heads of school and division directors. In Alabama, she managed a team of 40 employees as a guest service team leader at Target while working for the Parks and Recreation division of the City of Hoover designing, instructing, and organizing programming for special-needs children. The many roles she’s played within these organizations over the last 17 years well-equipped her to handle the complexities of supporting school systems. Her life has been dedicated to supporting and uplifting teams, and, most importantly, they giggled, worked through the hard times together, and created community!
