Rebecca Shapiro
Rebecca Shapiro is an experienced educator and lifelong learner who believes in the power of schools to transform lives and society. After discovering her passion for teaching while working at Northfield Mount Hermon, Rebecca spent nearly 20 years as a full-time History Teacher and over a decade serving as Department Chair at The Urban School of San Francisco. In 2022, Rebecca shifted to her current position as Upper School Instructional Coach at Head-Royce School in order to focus more deeply on shaping a culture of teaching and learning by working directly with individual teachers, teaching teams, and the entire adult community. Dedicated to increasing equity in independent schools and deeply committed to the belief that teachers need more care and support, Rebecca is thrilled to build community with colleagues from multiple schools. She is excited to facilitate this program with Sarah who has been a source of wisdom, counsel, and empathy since they met through CATDC in 2014.
