This one-day virtual workshop is designed to give all educators tools to create an inclusive classroom that fosters thoughtful, deliberative dialogue around the pressing cultural and political issues facing our world, with a focus on the coming U.S. elections. Educators are encouraged to attend in teams to help create a more cohesive school-wide approach for engaging in conversations around contested issues.

In this interactive 1-day workshop, learn how to define the different EF skills and understand their impact on the brain’s ability to be in an optimal state for learning. Discover why it is important to add the teaching of EF skills along with your academic curriculum. Discuss and develop a scope and sequence for front-loading the explicit instruction of these skills during the first few months of school.

This interactive two-day Summer Institute will give participants the opportunity to engage in a design challenge, integrating two critical topics: AI and Democracy. With a dynamic team of expert facilitators, participants will receive new skills, knowledge, and awareness along with support in developing ways to use AI as a means to empower students and teachers in practicing and advocating for deliberative democracy.
