Women Rising (LA)

Whether you are a classroom teacher, dean, department chair or aspiring Head of School, as women we often navigate particular challenges when it comes to decision making and understanding your authentic leadership style. Using the text A More Beautiful Question (Warren Berger) for inspiration, we will explore our own essential questions on the journey to better understand ourselves and the impact we can have in our school communities. In addition, this on-going group will explore some of the current trends and latest research and its application to our work in schools, and will allow group members to practice and refine the skills needed to be the best school leader possible.

Over the course of five meetings, participants will have the chance to form close relationships with peers and mentors, attend an overnight retreat at a spectacular local site, share stories and strategies, and grapple with challenges together. This group is open to anyone interested in gender and leadership—teachers, administrators and those aspiring to change role or style in some way. The spirit and connection of this group is part of its power. For anyone who seeks a safe, supportive professional community of women outside of your own school, this group is for you!

Please note:  The fall retreat date is set for October 4-5, 2015 (Sunday evening through Monday afternoon). It will be held at El Capitan Canyon in Santa Barbara. The retreat is included in the cost of the workshop.
