Administration Community Discourse
Independent school administrators have complicated and demanding jobs and can feel isolated from others in the school. This new program offers a small, confidential, and welcoming environment designed to foster connection, support, and dialogue with fellow administrators who share similar experiences and challenges.
The overall goal is to increase support for administrators in management positions that are often one of a kind (i.e. Lower School Head, Dean of Students, Director of Admissions). Participants will likely form long-lasting connections rich with resources, experience, and insight.
The curriculum is what the administrators bring to each session. There are times we might need to vent, problem solve, think through, or just simply laugh about our jobs. Participants can process the challenges as well as celebrate the successes they experience daily; there will be time allocated for both updates and deep dives into topics of shared interest.
Proposed meetings will be five mornings throughout the year for 2 1/2 hours from 9:00 to 11:30. Two groups (one on Tuesdays and one on Wednesdays) will be forming Fall 2015. Groups will also be created to match types of schools and positions so that participants have the most resonance in experience.
